Mom and Baby all good – Elon Musk & Grimes Welcome their First Child
Grimes has apparently welcomed her first child, says its father, boyfriend Elon Musk.
On Monday night, Musk, 48 tweeted “Mom and baby all good” in response to a question about the baby nested in the replies to a tweet from CleanTechnica about EPA testing for the Tesla Model S. The SpaceX head did not specify any additional details about Grimes or the child.
In January, Grimes, 32, had declared her pregnancy, confirming that Musk was the father in a March interview with Rolling Stone.
Afterward, Musk tweeted a picture of the baby with some app-created face tattoos. The tech guru jokingly added, “Never too young for some ink haha.” He also added that it was a baby boy and the pair named him X Æ A-12 Musk. Musk even published a picture of him cradling X Æ A-12 and wearing an “Occupy Mars” T-shirt.
A Canadian native Grimes, who released her fifth album “Miss Anthropocene” in February, kept followers anxiously updated on most of the elements of her pregnancy, from sending a digital avatar called “Warnymph” to show up in her stead on a magazine cover to showing a bespoke recipe for a meal called “sludge” that includes vegetables, couscous, sriracha and, Vegenaise. In March, she even outlined her pregnancy as “a pretty crazy sacrifice” to Rolling Stone stating that “it’s sacrificing your body and your freedom.”
“I have spent my whole life avoiding that situation,” Grimes further added, “so it was just a profound commitment.”
The baby is Grimes’ first, whereas Musk has five sons from his former marriage to author Justine Wilson: Twins Griffin and Xavier and triplets Damian, Saxon, and Kai.
