Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput dies at 34

On Sunday, well known Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai home, stated police and Indian media reports. Tributes for ‘bright young actors’ were seen from companions, cricketers, and even India’s Prime Minister. 


Fresh reports, referring to the police origins, stated that the 34-year-old actor’s body was found in his place of residence in suburban Bandra.


Mumbai police spokesman Pranaya Ashok affirmed the death and reported that the details were being examined. There are no questionable conditions, affirmed the police, who consider that the actor took his own life.


Rajput, who began his career by acting on television, later made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with director Abhishek Kapoor in Kai Po Che.


Rajput’s family told in a statement, “it pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us.” The statement further read, “We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life and his work as they have done so far.”


All the social media channels were overflowing with sympathies for the actor and his family, with numerous people responding to the news with mistrust.


Indian prime minister Narendra Modi took to twitter and said, “Sushant Singh Rajput…a bright young actor gone too soon,” “He excelled on TV and in films. His rise in the world of entertainment inspired many and he leaves behind several memorable performances. Shocked by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and fans. Om Shanti.”


Another Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar tweeted: “Honestly this news has left me shocked and speechless.”


Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui tweeted: “I can’t believe this at all … it’s shocking … a beautiful actor and a good friend … it’s disheartening.”


Rajput performed the role of former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his 2016 film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.


His other celebrated movies comprise of Kedarnath, Sonchiriya (Golden Bird), and Raabta (Connection). Rajput was last sighted in the 2019 Netflix film Drive.
